A hot spring town extends in the area at a height of about 700 meters abovesea level. On both sides of stone steps built in tiers at the steep sloping land,wooden Japanese-style hot spring inns, souvenir shops, restaurants andother buildings are lined in a row. Ikaho hot springs are characterized by hotwater with less stimulation and soft to skin, and have cured many people asthe site of medical treatment and retreat for health.
